The Kids Wrestling in the livingroom

Christmas 2008 West Family & Rusnell Family Building Hygiene Kits

Christmas Day 2008

For Christmas this year the Rusnell and West families decided that rather then give each other gifts we would spend the money on items for hygiene kits for the LDS Church and those that will need them. This was a very special day and by having our kids participate we hope they got a sense of the true spirit of Christmas.

It's a Disco Christmas for the Grandparents

We never new the Grandparents had such talent.

Hundreds of Geese at the ponds near our home

Hundreds of geese flocked to the ponds hear our home this evening and I though it would be great to get it caught on camera. The ponds are a stones throw away from our home in Kaysville. The kids love to come down and play. This time of year the pond is half frozen and lots of ducks and geese like to come and hang out. Enjoy.

Lauren's Christmas Dance Recital

Lauren did a wonderful job at her Christmas recital. This is the last dance number and if you look close you can see her right in the middle. We had a great time watching her.

Lauren's Christmas Dance Recital

Here is Lauren in her Christmas dance recital. She did so well and we are so proud of her. We can't believe how big she is getting. Mom put makeup on her and it made her look a few years older, but she had a blast.

Family Visit to Temple Square

It really is a blessing to live so close to Temple Square, especially this time of year. As you can see we had a great time visiting during the Christmas season. The Spirit is strong and it provided our family an opportunity to get away from the cares of the world. What was really special was being able to sit in front of the statue of Christ and simply look and wonder at scene. It really is something special.

Family Home Evening - "Ginger" bread houses

Well, this is starting to become a bit of a family tradition. Each time this year we spend one of our Family Home Evenings making gingerbread houses. Actually they are made out of gram-crackers and a bunch of candy. I think this years winner was Tyler. We were all impressed by his creation.

Fall in our front yard

A nice picture of the leaves in the front yard. We love fall.

Outdoor Football on November 1st

Well, it is 74 degrees outside. I went outside to enjoy the weather and saw he boys playing football (tackle) down the street and decided to take some pictures.

Halloween 2009

Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying Halloween. This year it was really warm, didn't even need jackets. Tyler at the last minute decided he wanted to go trick or treating and so Julie took him down to get a mask. That was about the extent of his costume. Dad stayed at home this year and gave out candy. It was great seeing all the kids and their costumes. Lauren was a cheerleader, Jordan was the Scream character and Tyler was well I'm not sure. He was late deciding how about that.

The Rusnell family gets ReAL Salt Lake

The family, minum Lauren went to the last regular home game of ReAL Salt Lake in their new stadium. We had a great time, ate junk food and cheered the team on to victory. They played FC Dallas and won 3 to 1.
Here Mathis is on the ground after getting taken out by a FC Dallas player who was red carded. It was one of two red cards.

This is a great shot of the east side of the stadium. It really is a beautiful venue and hold 20,000 people. There were just over 17,000 in attendance.

Our last camp outing for the year

As a family we went to Crystal Hotsprings for an overnight camp out. The kids went swimming in the hot springs with some friends. Dad relaxed by the campfire and worked with Jake. This was the first time we took Jake out camping. He did really well and we think he had a great time.
Tyler near the stream/pong looking for crawfish.

Jordan and Lauren hanging out near the pond.

Our four children!

More Pictures from the festival

The kids playing on some large tires that were barried half way into the ground.

A teter toter (spelling) for the kids to play on. Jordan about launched Lauren in the the nights sky.

Tyler at the start of the Snake Maze - it was made out of corn husks

This is a large tub full of corn seeds - this farm grows corn used for feeding cows - this tub was for playing in. I bet you won't see this at Chuck-E-Cheese.

Lauren's favorite ride - this was a train pulled by a 4 wheeler - the boys got in on the action too.

The kids in front of one of other slides - about 15 feet tall and Lauren was the first to go head first.

This was a very big slide, about 2 1/2 stories high made out of irrigation pipe - it gave your bum a massage when you went down

Mom & Dad get a pumpkin too (not sure whose was bigger)

Tyler, Jordan & Lauren just hanging out at the festival

Black Island Farms Harvest Festival

The last few days was UEA weekend and the kids were off Thursday and Friday so I decided to take the two days off and spend some time with the family. As you can see from the photos we had a great few days and did a lot. We went the the Black Island Farms Harvest Festival (2nd year) were we went on a tractor ride out to the pumpkin fields were we got to pick our own pumpkins. This was our second year doing this and we all had a great time as you can tell. The kids go to play on the farm, see some animals, play in the corn pit (actual pit full of corn seeds), slide down some straw slides, well you get the picture from the pictures.
